As Holiday season is approaching you must be worried about your packages that are left at the door. As for a solution, we tried NEST doorbell with a camera called “HELLO” which is considered the best in the market and here is what we think.

One of the features that is mostly loved by users is the 4:3 aspect ratio and the 160-degree field of view. This allows you to view your visitors from head-to-toe. On top of that, the performance of microphone of the video is also great so that you can hear clearly without having your visitors to hunch down and speak closer to the camera. Not only the functions of the device, its slick design is another preferred factor over competing products. Just like other security cameras Hello sends notifications to your phone whenever it senses motion, and as a doorbell when someone presses that button, not only will your indoor chime go off, you'll also get a notification on your phone.

It gets really smart when the face recognition feature meets Google mini or Google Home Hub. Google mini and Home Hub notify users when someone Hello recognizes is at the door. (This will not work with Alexa). With Lutron smart lighting integration, at AWAY mode, you can set the lights to turn on when Nest Hello detects any movements at the door. With “Quite Time” feature, you can have the chime on mute during the night, or anytime of the day you prefer, so that you are not disturbed by unwanted visitors. Also, “Prerecorded quick response” feature allows you to reply to visitors when you can’t answer.

On the other hand, installation is simple only if you have a wired manual doorbell but if you own a wireless or no doorbell, it will be complicated as it will require a wiring job. Also, if you want to enjoy the full features of it, you need a NEST Aware subscription which allows you 24/7 continuous live recording and facial-recognition feature.

  • Bright and sharp HDR video

  • High quality microphone/audio

  • 4:3 aspect ratio video with a 160-degree field-of-view so you can get the full look

It isn't the cheapest smart doorbell on the market, but if you're looking for a chic, user friendly and featured-packed device that works as a security camera AND a doorbell, Nest HELLO doorbell can be your choice that is worth a buy.
